Primary Themes of the Exhibition:

1. Compassion: Tuvia felt it more important to save one life than kill 20 Germans. The brothers accepted any Jewish refugee they found into the community. Visitors will be encouraged to consider their fellow human beings and the importance of having compassion despite pressures from others and individual circumstances.

2. Courage: The story of the courageous and daring Bielski brothers challenges the image that the European Jews were passive victims. The exhibition will feature text and stories to empower students and other visitors to stand up for what is right and to be an “upstander.”
